What started out as a simple military utility and transport vehicle in the 1980s has been reimagined by Volvere Automotive AB. Although it only uses the original concept of a short unibody van on portal axles, as everything else has been re-built from scratch, addressing some of the issues that plagued the older designs.
The L400 is an excellent choice for those that need to deliver light cargo or sensitive equipment across treacherous terrain without breaking the bank in the process. However, it does not mean that it’s not suitable for a spot of weekend camping, or overlanding.
Gameplay:
Volvere L400 is a mid- to high-range small scout, capable of wading through deep mud and snow, albeit not in a particular hurry. It doesn’t come without flaws though, as you’re quite likely to discover as soon as you take it across rocky terrain. The short wheelbase and high center of mass make it a handfull to drive in such conditions, so you may want to consider taking a detour through a woodland, as the small size and high levels of maneuverability allow the vehicle to snake its way though.
Something to be aware of: the L400 is capable of a handbrake pivot maneuver. Where the driver disengages RWD, engages the handbrake and accelerates whilst turning the front wheels to basically pivot around the rear axle, allowing for an extremely tight turn around. (Can only be done reliably on solid(ish) ground)
