This mod is certainly not for everybody, so please read me.
This mod will change the experience of the game! Just like in SnowRunner, Expeditions’ vehicles have way too little fuel capacity! I do understand the general sense of challenge and balance of why fuel was integrated into this game as it is. However, as a single-player and a fan of realism, I simply dislike how limiting gameplay can be. Regarding fuel capacities, every truck has the exact same value as the real counterpart! Also, fuel usage is lowered so you can have a bigger variaty of equipment with you – not only jerry cans!
While driving on flat surface and downhill, your trucks will consume a very low amount of fuel. Crawling through mud, climbing a hill and pulling a vehicle will increase fuel usage for a very noticeable amount!
This is not a cheat!
Fuel will be used up well, but it’ll take longer and change the balance of the game. If you like keep going for 30 to 45 minutes until your tank is empty, this mod is for you!
To make Supreme Edition players not feel like they wasted money, Supreme Edition trucks do have slightly more fuel capacity, just like in the vanilla game. With this mod, scout vehicles have 5 liters more, trucks have 10 liters more than the non Supreme version.
Installation guide:
Make sure, you have the latest version of WinRAR installed! Other software will cause issues! Always make sure you backup your files before editing!
Manual installation for STEAM:
– Use latest version of WinRAR! WinRAR supports *.pak files by default -> No support if you use other software. (Download WinRAR for free: https://www.win-rar.com/)
– Find the path you installed Expeditions to. Open Steam -> right-click Expeditions -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse
– Follow the folders: \preload\paks\client
– Backup, then open the file ‘initial.pak’ with WinRAR.
– Open the downloaded mod-file with WinRAR, as well.
– Drag and drop the ‘[media]’ folder from the downloaded mod-file into your initial.pak
– Done!
I also uploaded a complete initial.pak file. With this, you can simply exchange the original initial.pak. For players who want it even easier!
In this table I included real life fuel capacity and the source I found for it – feel free to use these values for your own mod!
